Another "bad" mother

I've just finished reading Confessions of a Bad Mother, by a Brit called Stephanie Calman. I do enjoy reading about other mothers who rely on the telly to keep their kids calm, openly admit to not enjoying the job on occasion and resort to bribery with food.

And the pop culture references were amusing without getting irritating, too.

Have a Merry Christmas..

Good old tv. I firmly believe our sky subscription is worth every cent purely for Playhouse Disney.

And maybe I'm a bad mother but I have to say I'm currently enjoying a remarkably peaceful evening as I told my daughter that only very good girls who go straight to sleep with no mucking around will get presents tomorrow. Thus I was threatening to do something which would not actually follow through on which all the parenting books say you should never, never do- but oh well she volunteered to go to bed early & apparently went determinedly went straight to sleep so who cares!!

My son won't sit and watch TV. He can't sit still for two seconds.

mtnw: what worked for my 5-yr-old nephew was his mum saying that Santa wouldn't bother coming in if he could hear children still awake in the house. Apparently it's the fastest they've ever seen him go to bed!

angela: What a terrible thing! Well, not for Gregory, but certainly for you...
